UVC compatibility is the safest starting point
USB Video Class devices generally work without vendor-specific drivers. That matters more on Linux than a proprietary control application.
1080p can be enough
Good exposure, focus and lighting often matter more than nominal 4K resolution for meetings and calls.
Treat the built-in microphone as convenience
If voice quality matters, a separate microphone or headset usually improves results more than upgrading to a more expensive webcam.
